Change Your Perspective and Every-Thing Changes

Thank you for joining me in reflections of A Course in Miracles Revival.
Here is Lesson 57, a review of Lessons 31-35

  1. I am not the victim of the world I see.
  2. I have invented the world I see.
  3. There is another way of looking at the world.
  4. I could see peace instead of this.
  5. My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

AA GabrielThe image you see here is taken from the Angel Tarot cards by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. It depicts Archangel Gabriel in an unusual position. Is the image right side up or upside down or is it sideways? You decide. The answer is based on your perspective on how you look at the image, which can give you clues about how you look at the world.

When I look at the world through the eyes of the conventional media I am immediately sucked down the sewer drain where despair and fear sit ready to engulf and devour me. Yuck! Why would I want to go there?

When I look at the world through the eyes of God I am transcended to an awakening of hope, love and fulfillment. Is it that easy?  Actually, no, not always. If it were we’d all stay in that tranquil state of peace.

It’s especially not easy when the challenges feel so daunting.

But what if, it could be easy? What if by changing your view from fear to love changes your perspective so that other options can be seen? And what if changing your view could be accomplished with ease and grace? Would you be interested?

There are oodles of tips, tricks and techniques to do this. I know because I’ve played with many of them. The one go-to that I guide my clients to use is a simple recipe. You don’t need to run to the store for the ingredients or by any gadgets to make it work. It’s simply this:

  1. Take a deep breath – hold it – and exhale. If it helps, use a count to 5 for your inhale and exhale or whatever is comfortable for you.
  2. Next focus on your heart. Continue to breathe – gentle breath in and gentle breath out.
  3. Now here’s the fun part. Recall a time or situation where you felt love, appreciation or gratitude. Connect with the feeling and breathe it in and out.
  4. Then when you feel ready look at the situation through the eyes of your new perspective. Is there another way of looking at it now? Where is the opportunity to see peace in it?

Remember as A Course in Miracles states, your mind is part of God’s and you are very holy.
